Avilés will hosted the full première of his latest film

Omar Sharif, on screen protagonist of major cinema classics such as Doctor Zhivago and Lawrence of Arabia, and one of the great legends of the golden age of Hollywood, was in Avilés on June 16th as the focus of an intense cultural day at the Niemeyer Center.

The actor participated in a public event, at the Cine Marta (movie theatre) of Avilés. During this meeting with film buffs, Sharif reviewed some of the most important moments of his career in film.

In addition, Sharif selected Avilés, Spain, as the location for the premiere of his latest film, “Fuoco su di me", a film set in Naples at the beginning of the 19th century. 

The Niemeyer Center thus maintains its commitment by offering a first rate cultural program, and reaffirms its passion for film, following the world premiere of Cassandra´s Dream by Woody Allen, and the meeting of Wim Wenders and Carlos Saura, prompted by the meeting of the European Film Academy board in Avilés.
